My top 3 fragrances

A signature scent, or just the right fragrance for the right occasion. Perfume is often that finishing touch to your outfit. Chanel once described perfume as the unseen, unforgettable and ultimate accessory of fashion that heralds your arrival and prolongs your departure. There is just something about scent that is so rich and transcending. A single fragrance can awaken our senses, spark a mood or catapult us back to memories past.

Not to mention the sensuality that perfume can hold. Scent can deliver directly to the brain in a way that none of the other senses can. Therefore, perfume plays a significant role when creating your style. Here are my top 3 fragrances!

For Her Musc Noir from Narciso Rodriguez

Narciso Rodriguez wanted to create an extremely sexy fragrance that would turn a man’s head. To Rodriguez no scent is more sexy or memorable than musk. Consequently, musk became the heart note of his ‘for her’ fragrance line. A line inspired by classic and timeless beauty, Lola Nicon.

The fragrance, For Her Musc Noir, is a true testament to a woman’s inner sensuality and beauty. Rodriguez further emboldened the musk heart note with heliotrope, and enhanced it with white cedar and rose. The fragrance also has a richness that comes from its leather suede accords. While a hint of luscious plum adds light and harmony.

For Her Musc Noir is one of my daily go-to’s, it has a rather complex scent that makes you want to keep smelling it. I mean this perfume is sex in a bottle to me. It’s super soft and sensual, and at the same time warm and rich due to the heliotrope and the leather suede accord. It truly smells delicious!

Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc

After Tom Ford left the House of Gucci in 2004, he went on to launch a world renowned line of fragrances. Black Orchid was the first sensational scent he brought onto the market and it is adored by men and women alike. Each of his fragrances will dazzle your senses for sure. According to Tom Ford: “Scent is a very direct sensory stimulant. It provokes the senses, it brings up emotion and memory and feeling.” And boy does this next fragrance transport you to paradise!

Eau de Soleil Blanc from Tom Ford is summer in a bottle. Whenever I spray it, I am in paradise. The scent reminds you of golden toned private beaches, sun kissed skin, salty beach hair with a splash of sweetness.

It’s a fresh floral fragrance that gets its vibrancy from citrus notes and pistachios. Infused with spices it transports you to a remote private island. A blend of jasmin, tuberose and ylang ylang bring the floral notes together with Moroccan orange flower. While luscious coco de mer balances the fragrance and adds warmth.

Valentino, BORN IN ROMA

Valentino, BORN IN ROMA

Valentino’s BORN IN ROMA fragrance line is created as a conversation with the city of Rome itself. It pays tribute to city’s heritage whilst celebrating a statement of personality.

This last fragrance is a new favourite of mine. It has a sensual, elegant scent with a playfulness to it. Its color note is a sparkling Italian Bergamot that invigorates and awakens your senses. At its heart lies a trilogy of jasmine that brings complexity. Meanwhile, Vanilla Bourbon provides it with a dark opulence giving the scent a sensual allure. Finally, its cool note comes from modern woods.

The Valentino BORN IN ROMA fragrance comes in a bottle that brings tribute to the House’s iconic Rockstud. The vivid pink liquid is matched against bold black details. At Valentino, pink is not only romantic but also bold and daring. Pink is punk. “You don’t have to be born in Roma to feel like a Roman” – Pierpaolo Piccioli, Maison Valentino Creative Director

Scent is a very direct sensory stimulant. It can awaken our senses, spark a mood or catapult us back to memories past. Perfume is a key ingredient when creating your style. Here are my top 3!
